How to Connect FreeAgent to InboxBill in 5 Minutes

Prerequisites

• An active FreeAgent account (any plan)
• An InboxBill account (free trial is fine)
• FreeAgent login credentials (email and password)

Step-by-step connection process

1. 1Log in to InboxBill and go to Settings

What happens after connection

InboxBill imports your existing FreeAgent contacts so it can match incoming invoices to known suppliers. When you approve an invoice in InboxBill, it creates a bill in FreeAgent using the FreeAgent API — this appears in your FreeAgent purchases list immediately.

Troubleshooting connection issues

• If redirected back without authorising: try in a different browser (clear cookies)
• If FreeAgent shows 'permission denied': ensure you have admin access on the FreeAgent account
• If contact import fails: reconnect using the 'Reconnect' button in Settings
• If bills aren't appearing: check FreeAgent → Purchases → Bills and filter by recent date
